(tb) The power generator Energy Baden-Württemberg (EnBW) plans to gradually commission the "He Dreiht" wind farm in the North Sea by spring. It has a total capacity of 960 megawatts. This is enough to supply up to 1,1 million households with electricity. However, some of this will require another clean power source, as the supply of 80 gigawatt hours per year has Deutsche Post for a period of ten years. This corresponds to approximately 16 percent of its total electricity consumption. This brings it closer to its goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions to zero by 2050. "He Dreiht" is the first wind farm in the North Sea to be built without subsidies. It is one of the largest wind farms in Europe.
(tb) Following the closure of the "Experience: Stamps" teams, Deutsche Post is now closing another philatelic institution. The Berlin Special Cancellation Office will cease operations on August 1. From now on, the Weiden Special Cancellation Office will be solely responsible for philatelic cancellation orders.
(tb) The US government is implementing its plan to gradually phase out the miniature one-cent coin from circulation. It last ordered new mintings for the current year, and from 2026 onward, there will be no more "penny," as the coin is colloquially known. It will remain valid until further notice, but retailers, if they still accept cash, will soon be able to round prices up or down to the nearest five cents. The minting costs for the one-cent coin have been above their value for years. According to the government, by discontinuing minting, the government will save around $56 million per year, the equivalent of just under €50 million.

The International Reply Coupon (IAS), adopted at the Universal Postal Congress in Rome in 1906 and introduced on October 1, 1907, was last available on June 30. However, this was only available online – Deutsche Post hasn't sold IAS coupons through its branches for years, not even through selected branches. This means that German senders no longer have any postal option to pay the recipient the postage for a reply in advance, except in the rather unlikely event that someone has stamps from the other country.
(tb) On 16 June, DHL Express the expansion of its hub at Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport. With up to 17.500 shipments per hour, the express service has more than quintupled its sorting capacity. In the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, which is served from Lyon, growth was as much as 20 percent. After Île-de-France, this is the most important region in France for DHL Express.
